LOS ANGELES, California (March 24, 2016) — Pedro Cruz, 34, was killed early Thursday morning in a pedestrian crash on Florence Avenue, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash was reported at 12:30 a.m., just east of Central Avenue in the Florence community. Paramedics responded to help the injured man, but he died of his injuries at the scene. The coroner later released his name to the public.
The driver of the 1996 Honda that hit the man stopped and was questioned by police at the scene. Authorities believe the man was lying in the middle of the street when he was struck.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash and will determine liability.
“My condolences go out to the family of this person as they cope with news of this tragedy,” said Attorney James Johnson, founder of Johnson Attorneys Group.
