2 Police Officers Injured in Car Crash at Balboa Boulevard and Van Owen Street

December 21, 2018 – Two police officers were injured in a traffic collision at the intersection of Balboa Boulevard and Van Owen Street, according to On Scene TV.
The accident took place Thursday around 11:30 p.m.
Preliminary investigation revealed a Los Angeles Police Department patrol vehicle crashed, for unknown reasons, with a civilian vehicle in the crossing.
As per the article, additional local officers along with firefighter paramedics arrived on scene and found the two LAPD officials injured in the wreck. Both parties were reportedly provided treatment at the location before transporting them to an area hospital.
Meanwhile, the driver of the civilian vehicle was unharmed in the collision.
It was unclear whether the LAPD officer was responding to a call or had his lights and siren activated at the time of crash.
