Pedestrian Killed in Los Banos Crash Near West Pacheco Boulevard and Badger Flat Road
LOS BANOS, CA (July 12, 2021) – A crash killed a pedestrian near West Pacheco Boulevard and Badger Flat Road in Los Banos.
According to The Fresno Bee and ABC 30 News, the tragic accident took place late Sunday night. Officers reported the collision on July 11 at about 11 p.m.
The incident happened when a male pedestrian was crossing north on West Pacheco Boulevard, west of Badger Flat Road. He was walking toward his parked truck with a trailer.
Los Banos police said a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro approached and then struck him. The driver hit the victim in the eastbound lane of Pacheco Boulevard.
Man, 44, Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the 44-year-old Clovis man lying unconscious on the ground and not breathing. He died at the scene.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, Los Banos police affirmed that the 19-year-old driver of the car stopped after hitting the pedestrian.
The motorist, Los Banos resident Kevin Moreno, stayed at the site and cooperated with the authorities. Officers forced the area of West Pacheco and Badger Flat to shut down following the collision.
The cause of the fatal accident is still under investigation.
