LOS BANOS (December 21, 2016)- According to the Merced Sun-Star, Karen Wigglesworth, 57, of Los Banos, has been identified as the victim fatally struck following a hit-and-run Tuesday evening.
The article read that Wigglesworth had been walking along Mercey Springs Road at 10:00 p.m. before being struck by a vehicle whose driver failed to stop and fled the scene.
The 57-year-old woman escaped serious injury as she flagged down a driver who was in the process of pulling over to help the woman. Suddenly another driver struck the woman leaving her with grave injuries.
The second driver who had been driving a sedan also failed to pull over and took off from the scene.
Wigglesworth sadly did not survive as Los Banos police officials pronounced her dead upon their arrival.
