Woman Fatally Struck by Big Rig on Volta Road Friday
Los Banos, CA (July 9, 2021) – A pedestrian died following a traffic accident that occurred on Volta Road Friday afternoon, the ABC30 News reported.
Officials said a female party ran into the road near Highway 152. Subsequently, a passing 2019 International big rig heading north on Volta Road struck the woman.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Los Banos, July 9
The collision resulted in fatal injuries to the pedestrian. Shortly after 2:22 p.m., medical personnel arrived at the site and pronounced the woman dead. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, authorities mentioned the operator of the truck, 28-year-old Fidel Alvarez, stopped after the crash. The driver stayed in the area and cooperated with the officers.
The article published online reported the woman appeared to be chasing after her dog when the collision happened. Further investigation on the pedestrian accident in Los Banos is underway.
