Boy, 15, Severely Injured in Los Feliz Hit-and-Run at Prospect and Talmadge
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 26, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash severely injured a teenage pedestrian at Prospect Avenue and Talmadge Street in Los Feliz.
According to the KTLA News and CBS Los Angeles, the accident occurred last week on Wednesday night. Officers reported the collision on April 21 at around 11:25 p.m.
The incident happened when 15-year-old boy was crossing southbound on Prospect Avenue at the intersection with Talmadge Street in Los Feliz. At the same time, a van was going east on Prospect.
Police said for an unknown reason, the driver of the van struck the teen. The victim ended up thrown more than 20 feet into the air upon impact and landed across the street.
Pedestrian Hit by Cargo Van in Los Feliz
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found him left lying on the ground. He suffered severe injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the young pedestrian to a local hospital and listed him in stable condition. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the teen.
The suspect soon fled eastbound on Prospect Avenue. Officials described the vehicle involved as a full-size cargo van with dark horizontal molding right above the tires.
The front-end and hood of the van apparently sustained damage after hitting the boy. Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run driver.
