LOS GATOS, California (July 22, 2016) – A motorcyclist identified as Cornelius Talbert, 69, of Scotts Valley, was struck and killed Friday on southbound Highway 17 near Redwood Estates, according to The Mercury News.
The collision was reported around 11:45 a.m., just north of Madrone Road.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said that Talbert was riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle when 53-year-old Thomas Karl Harness, of Soquel, driving a Honda Accord changed lanes and hit him.
Talbert lost control causing his bike to overturn and slid into an embankment. The 69-year-old man was transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

Alcohol or drugs did not appear to have played a role in the incident which remains under investigation.
