Woman Killed in Collision on Highway 17 at Idylwild Road
Los Gatos, CA (December 12, 2022) – One person died following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Highway 17 and Idylwild Road Saturday, the Mercury News reported.
Our sources indicated a black 2013 Toyota vehicle and a gray Ford Mustang crashed into each other at the intersection in Los Gatos. Preliminary investigation revealed a 27-year-old woman was driving the Toyota heading west on Idylwild. When the woman approached the crossing at the highway, she made a left turn onto the southbound lanes of SR-17. Officials said the Toyota ended up driving into the path of a northbound Ford.
Deadly Car Accident in Los Gatos
Shortly after 9:16 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the accident scene. Responding paramedics found the driver of the Toyota suffering in serious injuries. Given that, medical personnel rushed the victim to Valley Medical Center for treatment. Sadly, the patient succumbed to her injuries and passed away just after midnight Sunday. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Officials mentioned the driver of the Mustang stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation process.
At this time, detectives continue to work to determine the precise cause of the deadly accident that happened at Highway 17 and Idylwild Road in Los Gatos.
