TEHAMA COUNTY, CA (August 22, 2021) – Two were killed after a car crash on State Route 99E, just north of Los Molinos in Tehama County.
The Oroville Mercury-Register and KRCRTV News wrote that the tragic accident occurred on Sunday morning. Officers reported the wreck at around 7:35 a.m., just north of Butler Street.
The incident began when a 2009 Ford Focus was going north on State Route 99E in Los Molinos. At the same time, a 2019 Isuzu and a 2007 Nissan Sentra were traveling south.
For a unknown reason, the Ford entered the southbound lane directly into the path of the Isuzu. The Isuzu tried to move towards the shoulder to avoid the collision.

In the process, the Focus slammed into the left side of the Isuzu and continued north within the southbound lane. The California Highway Patrol said the Ford then struck the Nissan head-on.
The 59-year-old Hayward man operating the Focus and the 54-year-old Oroville woman driving the Sentra died at the scene.
The driver of the Isuzu, 39-year-old Anderson resident Nicholas Hall, and his passenger, 24-year-old Red Bluff resident Michael Zuhlke, ended up unharmed.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound lanes of State Route 99E to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Los Molinos crash is still under investigation.
