Louie Haro Killed in Santa Fe Springs Pedestrian Accident on I-5 Freeway

SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA (Dec. 12, 2025) — A pedestrian identified as Louie Haro, 64, died Sunday in a car accident on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway in Santa Fe Springs.
The deadly crash occurred around 7:12 p.m. on Dec. 7th along the southbound Interstate 5 Freeway, just south of Valley View Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Detectives investigating the collision determined the driver ran over the man while he was down in traffic lanes due to unknown circumstances. The motorist continued driving and failed to stop.
CHP officers stopped traffic at Carmenita Road and Caltrans closed down the HOV lane and Nos. 1 and 2 lanes to conduct their investigation.
