Man Run Over by Tour Bus, Dragged at Exposition Park Intersection
EXPOSITION PARK, Calif. (Jan. 11, 2019) – Louis Jude Otero, 78, of Los Angeles, who is believed to be homeless, was run over by a tour bus struck and killed Thursday night, dragging his body about 100 feet until it feel off at South Flower and West 23rd streets in downtown.
The collision was reported to the Los Angeles Police Department about 5 p.m. after someone saw the man underneath the bus clinging to it and then he eventually fell off and was run over. The bus was traveling southbound on Flower Street.
The bus driver eventually drove onto the 110 Freeway, apparently unaware that the vehicle had run over a man in the street. A witness followed the bus onto the freeway and attempted to alert the driver by honking their horn, but the driver never stopped. Eventually, the tour bus responsible was located in Gardena and now police are investigating what happened.
