Louis Munoz, 57, Killed in Porterville DUI Hit-and-Run Crash on Road 236
PORTERVILLE, CA (September 25, 2021) – Louis Munoz was killed after a DUI hit-and-run crash on Road 236 in Porterville.
Family members identified the 57-year-old Porterville man as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Wednesday.
The incident happened when Louis Munoz was riding a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle south on Road 236 in Porterville. At the same time, a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt was going north.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 23-year-old Dominic Anaya Casarez, then drifted into the left lane and into the path of the motorcyclist. In the process, the Visalia man hit the rider.
The California Highway Patrol said the two crashed just south of Avenue 112. The FOX 26 News wrote that the accident occurred on September 22 at around 2:30 a.m.

Louis Munoz sustained serious injuries as a result of the Porterville crash. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found him left lying on the ground.
Medical personnel rushed the man to the Kaweah Delta Medical Center, where he died. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that Dominic Casarez abandoned his car and fled on foot.
Officers located him and determined that he was under the influence of alcohol when he struck the victim. They arrested him on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run.
Authorities soon charged the suspect with second-degree murder, gross vehicular manslaughter, and hit-and-run causing death.
His other charges included driving on a suspended license, and driving without an ignition interlock device (IID). The Porterville DUI hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
