Pedestrian Killed; 3 Injured in San Francisco Crash at Polk and Hayes Streets
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (May 19, 2021) – Lovisa Svallingson, 29, died and three others were injured Tuesday night in a collision involving a hit-and-run driver in San Francisco.
The San Francisco Medical Examiner’s office reports the crash happened at about 7:00 p.m. on May 18, at Polk and Hayes streets.
A driver in a dark blue Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck was southbound on Polk Street when they allegedly drove through a stop sign and collided with a westbound white Audi sedan.
2 Pedestrians Struck by Hit-and-run Driver in Pickup Truck
When the vehicles collided, the pickup struck Lovisa Svallingson and a 30-year-old man who were both pedestrians.
Sadly, Lovisa Svallingson suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene of the accident.
Meanwhile, the second pedestrian was badly injured in the crash. Paramedics transported him by ambulance to Zuckerberg-San Francisco General Hospital.
Paramedics treated two people riding in the Audi for minor injuries before taking them to the hospital.
Finally, police stated the driver of the Chevrolet pickup truck fled the scene and police are searching for the suspect.
