Major Injury Collision on Kopta Road in Tehama County
LOYBAS HILL, Calif. (August 9, 2024) — Several people were injured when a van overturned in a crash at Kopta Road and Sacramento Avenue or Squaw Hill Road in Loybas Hill.
The fiery crash occurred at 1:22 p.m. on August 9th, in Tehama County, according to the California Highway Patrol. The van crashed in an orchard due to unknown circumstances.
CHP officials reported five people with injuries managed to get out of the van before it became fully engulfed in flames and burned.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to help those injured in the crash, including at least one person with major injuries.
An investigation into the cause of the crash and liability is underway.
