Pedestrian Injured in Lucerne Hit-and-Run at Highway 20 and 8th Street
LUCERNE, CA (July 30, 2021) – A pedestrian was injured after a hit-and-run crash at Highway 20 and 8th Street in Lucerne.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Friday night. Officers reported the incident at about 8:36 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Lucerne. The driver hit the person at the intersection of Highway 20 and 8th Street.
Victim Hit by Vehicle Near Park
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Lucerne Creek Park. They found the victim left wounded as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then provided treatment to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the crash. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that that the motorist did not stop to help the victim and fled the area. Officers forced Highway 20 at 8th Street to shut down following the collision.
The Lucerne hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
