Driver, 40, Killed in Car Accident on SR-247 and Selmadolph Street Wednesday
Lucerne Valley, CA (April 8, 2021) – One person died following a car and truck crash on State Route 247 on April 7, Wednesday, the Victor Valley News Group reported.
Preliminary investigation revealed a double tanker 2020 Peterbilt collided with a 2002 Chevy pickup truck on SR-247. The catastrophic incident took place the Selmadolph Street in Lucerne Valley.
Shortly after 7:10 p.m., emergency teams arrived at the site and found the Peterbilt overturned. The force from the impact tore apart one of the tankers from the main cab.
Officials added the Chevy sustained more severe damage. Per news article, parts from the mangled and unrecognizable pickup were scattered across the highway.
Responding paramedics reportedly performed life-saving measures to the driver of the Chevy but the man succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. Authorities briefly identified the deceased as a 40-year-old man from Carson.

Meanwhile, the driver of the truck, a 47-year-old Bakersfield resident, sustained minor injuries in the collision. An ambulance transported the patient to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Investigators handling the case continue to work at this time to determine several factors surrounding the car crash in Lucerne Valley.
