Woodland Hit-and-Run Accident
The motorcyclist was transported the UC Davis Medical Center and is reportedly in stable condition. His name was not released.
Meanwhile, police said the driver of the truck did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. Officers found and identified the hit-and-run motorist as 45-year-old Woodland resident Lucia Camarena.
Camarena was later arrested on charges of a felony hit-and-run and booked at the Yolo County Jail.
Motorists are obliged to stop after being involved in a traffic accident. In this case, it is evident that Ms. Lucia Camarena will be held fully responsible for causing the incident that led to the injuries of the motorcyclist. Regardless of her reasons, leaving the area following a crash is a serious crime and is punishable by law, especially if the collision hurt another individual.
The victim has the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit against Ms. Camarena who has evidently neglected the safety of others on the road. The victims of hit-and-run incidents need a professional representative in court who will fight aggressively for their legal rights.
