Lucina Soto Fatal Car Crash Accident Highway 60 in Moreno Valley
MORENO VALLEY, California (June 26, 2017) — Lucina Soto, 70, of Bloomington has died, a second person suffered major injuries in a two-vehicle collision early Monday morning on the eastbound Highway 60, just east of Moreno Beach Drive, a report by the Riverside County Fire Department said.
The crash took place at 4:15 a.m. this morning. The collision took place between a blue 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck and a white 1994 Ford Explorer SUV. The SUV ended up down an embankment on the right shoulder of the Moreno Valley Freeway.
The 70-year-old Bloomington woman died of her injuries at the scene of the crash about 4:34 a.m., but the other unidentified person was trapped in a vehicle. CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters extricated the injured person from their vehicle and transported them by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
A SigAlert was issued about 5 a.m. for the crash and both vehicles were towed and impounded for evidence.
The California Highway Patrol is heading up the investigation into the fatal crash to determine liability.
