 Luis Carlos Fatal Porterville Crash Highway 65, Tea Pot DomeWrong-Way Driver Killed; 3 Injured in Porterville Crash on Highway 65

PORTERVILLE, Calif. (Nov. 9, 2021) — Luis Carlos, 53, of Bakersfield, died Saturday, Nov. 6., in a wrong way Porterville crash on Highway 65, just north of Tea Pot Dome, Fox 26 News reports.

The Bakersfield man was driving a GMC Canyon pickup truck about 6:30 p.m. when he reportedly veered into opposing traffic and collided with a Dodge Caravan at roughly 65 mph, according to Porterville Police.

Luis Carlos suffered major injuries and died at the scene. However, his passenger survived with major injuries and was airlifted to Kaweah Health for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, Porterville Police reported they found both full and empty beer cans inside the GMC pickup truck after the crash. It has not been confirmed if Luis Carlos was driving under the influence at the time of the crash.

Furthermore, the occupants of the Dodge Caravan suffered minor injuries. Paramedics transported them to Sierra View District Hospital.
