Luis Estanga Charged for Fatal Crash on Trimmer Springs Road in Fresno County
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (June 30, 2025) — DUI suspect, Luis Estanga, 40, of Fresno, is scheduled to appear in court today on charges of felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, for a fatal crash on Trimmer Springs Road in Fresno County.
The suspect is being held in Fresno County Jail, in lieu of $163,500 bail, according to the Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner.
Back on Saturday, June 14th, the suspect was allegedly speeding in a white GMC pickup truck with four passengers. One of those passengers, Cristian Jaime, 46, died when the truck went off the roadway at a curve in the roadway. The pickup truck rolled down a steep embankment and hit a tree around 7:15 p.m., just north of Lakeview Avenue, in Fresno County.
The three surviving passengers suffered minor to moderate injuries.
Meanwhile, Luis Estanga was seriously injured and airlifted to a hospital and once recovered, he was transferred to Fresno County Jail.
