DUI Driver Luis Gonzalez, 21, Kills Motorcyclist in San Jose Crash
SAN JOSE, CA (May 12, 2021) – Authorities detained Luis Gonzalez after a fatal DUI crash at Trimble and Zanker roads in San Jose.
Police determined that the 21-year-old San Jose man was under the influence of alcohol when he killed a motorcyclist on Tuesday night.
The incident happened when Luis Anthony Gonzalez was driving a 2016 Toyota Corolla south on Zanker Road in San Jose. At the same time, a man was riding a motorcycle east on Trimble Road.

Police said Luis Gonzalez then ran a red light at the intersection and struck the motorcyclist. East Bay Times and CBS San Francisco wrote that the wreck occurred on May 11 shortly before 8 p.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and pronounced the motorcycle rider dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, officers soon arrested Gonzalez on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI. The San Jose DUI crash is still under investigation.
