Luis Humberto Rosales Killed in Taft Pedestrian Accident

Fatal Hit-and-Run Collision on Highway 119

Taft, CA (February 26, 2023) – Luis Humberto Rosales, a 53-year-old man, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred in the area of Highway 119 and East Kern Street.

According to Bakersfield Now, Rosales, of Taft, was pushing a shopping cart walking in a westerly direction across the highway. While in the middle of the roadway, a car entered the East Kern Street intersection and hit the pedestrian. Officials mentioned the horrible crash took place on January 27, Friday.

Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Taft

Emergency crews arrived at the location and found the pedestrian suffering in serious injuries. Responding paramedics performed life-saving measures to the man but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The Kern County Coroner’s Office later identified the deceased as Luis Humberto Rosales.

Meanwhile, the article published online mentioned the driver fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.

Detectives continue to work at this time to determine several unclear factors surrounding the fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident that happened at Highway 119 and East Kern Street in Taft.
