Luis Perez Killed Fresno Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident Belmont Avenue

Fresno, CA (May 14, 2025) – Fresno police are actively searching for a driver who fled the scene of a deadly hit-and-run that claimed the life of 39-year-old Luis Perez of Fresno on Sunday evening.
The incident occurred just before 6 p.m. on May 11th, near the intersection of Belmont Avenue and Thesta Street. Officers responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist.
When police arrived, they found Perez lying in the roadway with critical injuries. Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The suspect vehicle, described as a black sedan, fled the scene before officers arrived. Detectives are now investigating the crash as a felony hit-and-run.
Luis Perez had initially not been identified by authorities, but officials later confirmed his identity as they continued working to notify family and gather more information.
