Luisa Morales Gonzalez; Edgar Ramirez; Fatal Glendora Crash 210 Freeway
GLENDORA, California (June 11, 2017) —Luisa Morales Gonzalez, 76, of Lawndale, and Edgar Ramirez, 19, of Riverside were both killed when the car they were riding in as passengers was rear-ended by an alleged speeding driver in a chain-reaction crash on the Interstate 210 Foothill Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash took place about 3:56 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the freeway at Sunflower Avenue. on Saturday afternoon. Police say, Grace Morillo, 46, of Winnetka was driving a 2017 Honda Accord when traffic slowed down ahead of her and she allegedly slammed into a 2005 Honda Civic occupied by Gonzalez and Ramirez. The Civic was pushed into a third vehicle, a 2009 Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by Jose Macias, 33, of Van Nuys.
The driver of the Civic, Alfredo Ramirez, 23, of Riverside, was transported to Pomona Valley Medical Center where he was treated after complaining about neck pain. No other vehicle occupants were hospitalized.
Police are investigating the crash to determine liability, but none of the drivers involved were cited for traffic violations at this time as alcohol and or drugs were not considered to be factors.
