SUISUN CITY (August 1, 2017) – Lydellaricia King, 28, of Stockton has died and five children in her car were hurt Monday in a rollover collision on Highway 12, also known as Rio Vista Road, according to a KCRA TV report.
All six people were ejected as the 1999 Ford Taurus overturned multiple times after it went over to a dirt shoulder.
At least four air ambulances were sent to the scene to transport the children ages 3 months old to 8 years old to Oakland Children’s Hospital where they were treated for major injuries. King was transported to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center. She died about an hour after the crash.
The report does not specify what the relationship between the woman and the children was.
The accident was reported in the westbound lanes about 5:33 p.m. at Nurse Slough Road.
Suisin City Crash Investigation
Police are attempting to piece together what led to this deadly collision. At least one witness told authorities that the vehicle was driving in a reckless manner not long before the collision at about 5:30 p.m., according to the Daily Republic. What authorities do not know yet is whether the woman was having a medical emergency that led to this type of driving or if something else such as a mechanical failure was to blame. While driver errors are typically the cause of most crashes, there are many other factors that could lead to this type of crash.
If you or a loved one have been hurt in a collision, it’s advisable that you seek out medical attention and a qualified personal injury attorney for help.
