Lydia Currier, 35, Killed in Hemet Hit-and-Run Crash on Sanderson Avenue
HEMET, CA (April 19, 2021) – Lydia Currier was killed after a hit-and-run crash along Sanderson Avenue in Hemet.
Police identified the 35-year-old Hemet woman as the victim of the fatal accident which occurred on Sunday, April 18.
The incident happened when Lydia Currier was, either standing or attempting to cross, in the southbound lanes of Sanderson Avenue in Hemet.
Driver Hits Pedestrian, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and then found Lydia Currier left lying on the ground as a result of the crash.
Medical personnel rushed her to the Hemet Global Medical Center, where she died. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the female driver did not stop to render aid to the pedestrian and soon fled the area.
Officers described the suspect car involved as a brown or tan colored sedan. They are still searching for the hit-and-run motorist.
Authorities believed that the victim jumped out into traffic on Kirby Street prior to the Hemet hit-and-run crash. Anyone with information can call the police at 951-765-2400.
