LAPD Officer Injured After Car Crash on 105 Freeway Monday
LYNWOOD, Ca (June 3, 2019) – A 52-year-old Los Angeles police officer suffered injuries following a suspected hit-and-run collision on the Interstate 105 Freeway Monday morning.
According to KTLA News, the officer was riding a motorcycle heading west on I-105 near Atlantic Avenue around 5:40 a.m. Suddenly, a silver BMW SUV traveling beside the officer made an unsafe lane change. Authorities said the SUV crossed a set of double yellow lines to enter the carpool lane and hit the right side of the officer’s motorcycle.
As a result of the impact, the officer was thrown off his bike. First responders found the man in the center median of the freeway. Medical teams rushed to render aid to the victim. Our sources indicated a land ambulance transported the officer to St. Francis Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The BMW driver, meanwhile, continued westbound and failed to stop after the crash. Description of the alleged hit-and-run motorist remained unavailable.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
