Pedestrian Accident Investigation
An investigation into this collision is underway to determine liability. Some of the questions law enforcement may have is whether or not the truck driver was distracted or violating any laws when this collision took place.
If a negligent driver is at fault for a collision resulting in injuries or a death, there may also be grounds for a civil lawsuit or wrongful death claim. This is always a personal decision, but for many the financial losses associated with a traffic accident can be significant.
It’s important to note, however, that it’s quite common for insurance companies to try and avoid paying out a claim even when they know their insured is responsible. They may also make an offer to settle for far less than the full amount owed.
