Macy Benjamin ID’d as Pedestrian Killed on Santa Ana (5) Freeway
TUSTIN, Calif. (November 22, 2020) – Macy Benjamin, 23, died in a pedestrian accident Thursday on Interstate 5 Freeway in Tustin.
Benjamin, who worked at Ho Sum Bistro in Newport Beach, is a Newport Harbor High School graduate. She also studied at Orange County College in Costa Mesa.
She was struck on Nov. 19th by a vehicle on the southbound side of the Interstate 5 Freeway, according to My News LA.
A vehicle of unknown make and model struck young woman as she was walking along the southbound lanes of the freeway in Tustin.
Fatal Crash I-5 Freeway, Tustin Ranch Road
The collision took place around 11:40 p.m., just north of Tustin Ranch Road. Unfortunately, she suffered major injuries and died on the scene. The crash took place just a week before her 24th birthday, according to a Go Fund Me page created to support her family.
Later, the Orange County coroner’s office identified the fatal victim as Macy Benjamin.
Meanwhile, there is no information available at this time about the driver involved.
Finally, the California Highway Patrol’s Santa Ana office is heading up the investigation.
