Several Injured in Madera County Crash Near Highway 41 and Jewel Vista Drive
MADERA COUNTY, CA (November 27, 2022) – Several were injured after a DUI crash near Highway 41 and Jewel Vista Drive in Madera County.
According to an article published by the ABC 30 News, the accident took place early Sunday. Officers reported the wreck at around 2:30 a.m. just south of Chukchansi Casino.
The incident happened when a Hyundai Elantra went off the road and slammed into several rocks near Coarsegold. The car crashed on Highway 41 near Jewel Vista Drive in Madera County.
The California Highway Patrol said a Toyota Tundra traveling behind clipped the Hyundai and two more vehicles. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
Multiple people ended up hurt as a result of the collision. Majority of the victims sustained minor injuries while a passenger in the Elantra suffered major injuries.
Medical personnel then rushed the patients to the hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP determined that the driver of the Hyundai was under the influence when the incident occurred. They arrested the motorist for DUI.
Officers forced a stretch of Highway 41 to shut down near Jewel Vista following the wreck. The cause of the Madera County crash is still under investigation.
