1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Madera County Crash Near Avenue 9 and Road 38
MADERA COUNTY, CA (April 22, 2021) – A car crash killed one person and seriously injured another near Avenue 9 and Road 38 in Madera County.
According to the ABC 30 News and Your Central Valley, the tragic accident occurred on Thursday evening. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 7:30 p.m.
The incident happened when a Chevy Malibu was going west on Avenue 9 near Road 38 in Madera County. For an unknown reason, the Chevy crossed over into oncoming traffic.
Fiery Head-On Collision Madera County
Authorities said the Malibu then slammed head-on with a pickup truck. The Chevy became fully engulfed in flames upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and pronounced the motorist in the Malibu dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
An air ambulance took the patient to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, officials forced the area of Avenue 9 and Road 38 to close for a time following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Madera County crash is still under investigation.
