4 Killed in Madera County Crash on Highway 41 and Avenue 15
MADERA COUNTY, CA (April 9, 2022) – A head-on crash killed several people on Highway 41 and Avenue 15 in Madera County.
According to The Fresno Bee and Your Central Valley, the tragic accident took place late Friday night. Officers reported the wreck shortly before midnight .
The incident happened on April 8 when dark-colored vehicle was driving recklessly south on Highway 41 near Avenue 15 in Madera County.
The reckless driver crossed into the northbound lanes trying to pass the cars in front of it. In the process, the vehicle slammed head-on into another car.
Reckless Driver Hits Another Car
The California Highway Patrol described the vehicles as a 4-door black Honda Accord and possibly a 2-door white Scion tC. Both cars caught fire upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They confirmed that a total of four occupants, two in each vehicle, died as a result of the collision.
The names of the deceased victims have not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the fatal Madera County crash is still under investigation.
CHP forced the northbound lanes of Highway 41 to shut down near Avenue 15 for several hours following the wreck.
