1 Killed, 4 Injured in Madera County Crash Near Avenue 12 and Road 33 1/2
MADERA COUNTY, CA (September 17, 2022) – A crash killed one person and injured several others near Avenue 12 and Road 33 1/2 in Madera County.
According to an article published by Your Central Valley, the tragic accident took place on Friday evening. Officers reported the wreck on September 16 at about 7:15 p.m.
The incident happened when the rider of a Harley Davidson was going east on Avenue 12 near Road 33 1/2 in Madera County. At the same time, a gray Nissan Altima was traveling west.
The car tried to pass traffic and entered the opposite lane while the motorcyclist approached from the eastbound lane. In the process, both veered to the left onto the south shoulder.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
The California Highway Patrol said the rider then swerved to the right to avoid the Nissan. However, the two collided head-on.
The motorcyclist ended up ejected from the bike as a result of the collision. Firefighters arrived and soon pronounced the rider dead at the scene.
The four occupants of the Altima, two adults and two juveniles, ended up hurt upon impact. Medical personnel rushed them to hospitals for treatment of minor to major injuries.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP forced the corner of Avenue 12 and Road 33 1/2 to shut down for a time following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Madera County crash is still under investigation.
