
4 Seriously Injured in Madera County Crash Near Avenue 7 and Road 25
MADERA COUNTY, CA (March 20, 2023) – Several were seriously injured after a crash near Avenue 7 and Road 25 in Madera County.
According to The Fresno Bee and ABC 30 News, the accident took place late Sunday morning. Officers reported the wreck on March 19 at about 11:30 a.m.
The incident happened when a 2014 Nissan Sentra was going west on Avenue 7, just west of Road 25, in Madera County. At the same time, a 2019 Toyota Camry was traveling east.
For an unknown reason, the 28-year-old man driving the Nissan veered off the paved portion of the road and overcorrected. In the process, he made a left turn into the oncoming lane.
2 Cars Collide
The California Highway Patrol said the Sentra then slammed head-on into the Toyota. Firefighters arrived at the scene and freed a trapped 25-year-old woman in the Nissan from the wreckage.
She sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collision. The 33-year-old woman operating the Toyota, her 31-year-old male passenger and the driver of the Sentra survived the incident with major injuries.
Paramedics rushed all patients to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. The reports did not disclose their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced a stretch of Avenue 7 to shut down near Road 25 following the wreck. The cause of the Madera County crash is still under investigation.
