At Least 1 Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision
Madera, CA (August 18, 2022) – One person died following a suspected hit-and-run car crash that occurred in the area of Highway 99 and Avenue 16.
The ABC30 News reported two vehicles collided at the intersection in Madera. Our sources indicated the accident took place Sunday at approximately 1:45 a.m.
When rescue teams arrived at the location, they found a white car with front-end damage; and a van with rear-end damage. The force from the impact caused the van to overturn, and slam against a pole.
Deadly Car Accident at Highway 99 and Avenue 16 in Madera
The article published online mentioned both the car and van were empty when police responded. After searching the area, emergency crews found one person unconscious. The name of the fatal victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
A witness claimed several people run away from the site after the incident.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate several unclear factors surrounding the deadly crash that happened at Highway 99 and Avenue 16 in Madera.
