Mother Trapped, Injured After Collision on Highway 99 Friday
Madera, CA (September 5, 2021) – A suspected hit-and-run crash occurred on State Route Highway 99 near Avenue 20 1/2, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Our sources indicated two vehicles collided in Madera on September 3, Friday. Officials briefly described the automobiles involved in the wreck as a dark-colored SUV and a dark-colored sedan.
The CHP logged the incident at about 9:24 p.m.
When emergency teams arrived at the location, they found a woman trapped in the wreckage. First responders also found another person at the scene, and he said the trapped party was his mother.
Firefighters worked extensively to extricate the victim. After they freed her, an ambulance transported the woman to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Meanwhile, the condition of the son of the victim remained unknown at this time.

Investigators later confirmed a motorist involved in the collision fled the scene before police arrived. Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to work at this time to determine several factors surrounding the hit-and-run crash in Madera.
