Passenger Hospitalized, Driver Killed in Car Crash on Skyway Monday
Magalia, CA (April 5, 2021) – One person died, and another suffered injuries following a car accident on Skyway Monday afternoon, the KRCR News reported.
Officials said a vehicle with two occupants went over the embankment along Skyway. Preliminary investigation revealed the car was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.
According to the news article published online, the vehicle continued to drive away from the roadway. The car only stopped after slamming into a tree in the area near Pentz Road in Magalia.
Deadly Car Accident in Magalia, April 5
Emergency teams arrived at the site shortly after 3:5 p.m. Medical personnel rendered aid to both the driver and passenger. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed the driver sadly died as a result of the crash. The name of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the passenger reportedly survived the incident with moderate to major injuries. An ambulance rushed the patient to Enloe Hospital for treatment.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate several factors surrounding the fatal car accident in Magalia.
