Innocent Driver Hurt in Collision on Highway 101
Ventura, CA (June 5, 2023) – Majid Lashkari, a 66-year-old man, suffered injuries following a suspected DUI car crash that occurred on State Route Highway 101.
The KTLA5 News reported two vehicles collided in the northbound side of the highway just south of Johnson Drive offramp. Preliminary investigation revealed Lashkari, of Ventura, was behind the wheel of an Acura SUV heading north on SR-101. Officials said a Dodge Charger traveling in the same direction crashed into the Acura. The force from the impact caused the Acura to spin out of control across the traffic lanes.
Shortly after 5:49 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location and found the Acura down the embankment. The vehicle came to a rest after hitting a light pole and a concrete wall.
According to the article published online, multiple witnesses pulled over and rendered aid to the driver of the Acura until rescue teams arrived. Responding paramedics checked the condition of the 66-year-old driver, then transported him to a nearby hospital for further treatment and evaluation. Authorities later identified the victim as Majid Lashkari.
DUI Suspect Arrested After Car Accident in Ventura
Investigators later determined the person driving the Charger was intoxicated at the time of the collision. Given that, police arrested the man for DUI violations and booked him into the Ventura County main jail.
At this time, detectives continue to gather information surrounding the injury car accident that happened on Highway 101 in Ventura.
