Pickup Truck Overturns in Multi-Vehicle Crash on US 101

SAN JOSE, Calif., (July 15, 2026) — A traffic accident involving multiple vehicles on Wednesday resulted in major injuries on the northbound US Highway 101, just south of the I-880 interchange in San Jose.

The incident was reported on July 15th at approximately 9:57 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol‘s log. The collision reportedly involved a tan Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, a black Honda Fit, and possibly, two other vehicles, including a blue Honda Civic and an unidentified color Toyota SUV.

San Jose Rollover Crash on US 101 Under Investigation

Emergency responders arrived on the scene shortly after the accident was reported. The blue Honda Civic was initially blocking lane two from the right, but was later moved to the right-hand side (RHS) of the roadway. The San Jose Fire Department was notified and responded to assist with the situation.

One of the vehicles, a brown Toyota Tacoma two-door pickup, ended up on its roof, prompting a request for a tow. The collision resulted in major injuries, prompting the classification change from an unknown injury collision to a major injury collision by the CHP.

The exact cause of the collision remains under investigation. Authorities are urging any witnesses to come forward with information that may assist in the investigation.
