SACRAMENTO, Calif., (Sept. 18, 2026) — A major injury car accident involving multiple vehicles happened Friday on the Interstate 80 Freeway East at Norwood Avenue in North Sacramento.
The incident occurred on Sept. 18th at approximately 9:17 a.m. during the busy morning commute in the North Sacramento area. The collision involved a gray Chevrolet Equinox, a gray Toyota Tundra, a black BMW, a red sedan, a black sedan, and a silver Mercedes-Benz. The accident caused significant disruptions, with vehicles reportedly blocking multiple lanes.
Emergency responders, including the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and local fire department units, were dispatched to the scene. The initial response included efforts to perform CPR on one of the drivers, underscoring the severity of the injuries sustained.
