SAN DIEGO, Calif., (July 1, 2026) — A major injury collision involving a white work truck and two SUVs occurred Wednesday afternoon on State Route 5 South near El Cajon Boulevard in San Diego.
The incident unfolded at approximately 4:45 p.m. on July 1, 2026, according to the California Highway Patrol. Responding units arrived swiftly at the scene where a black SUV, a blue SUV, and a white work truck collided in the slow lane.
Airbags were reportedly deployed in the middle vehicle, indicating the severity of the impact. Emergency services, including the Fire Command Center, were notified, and the roadway was cleared by 5:21 p.m. after initial blockage in lane #4.
