Major Crash Greenback Lane, Hickory Avenue in Orangevale

EAST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (August 18, 2026) — A major-injury crash on Greenback Lane near Hickory Avenue happened on Monday afternoon in Orangevale.

The incident occurred on Aug. 17th at approximately 12:52 PM and involved a gray sedan and a silver or white SUV, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The collision took place eastbound at the intersection, leading to significant traffic disruption as emergency services responded.

Two Injured in Orangevale Crash on Greenback Lane

Emergency responders from the Sacramento Fire Department were dispatched to the scene shortly after the collision was reported. Both parties involved in the crash were transported to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment of their injuries, the extent of which are currently unknown.

Fast Response Towing was called to remove the vehicles from the scene, which had blocked the eastbound lanes of Greenback Lane for over 30 minutes.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash and are seeking any witnesses who may have observed the events leading up to the collision. The CHP is urging anyone with information to come forward as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
