2-Vehicle Car Accident on State Route 99
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. (June 20, 2023) — A fiery, two-vehicle crash involving major injuries happened Tuesday on Highway 99 at the West Riego Road off ramp in Sacramento County.
The collision occurred on Golden State Highway around 7:51 a.m. on June 20th, just north of the Sacramento International Airport, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a grey sedan and a red Ford F-150 pickup truck were involved. The car overturned during the collision and its engine caught on fire. At least one person suffered a major injury.
Paramedics with the Sacramento County Fire Department responded and located one person with a broken arm and transported them by ambulance to UC Davis Medical Center.
Tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles from the roadway.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Highway 99 crash.
