Major Injury Accident on West El Camino Avenue, I-80 in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif., (Sept. 25, 2026) — A major injury accident occurred early Friday morning at West El Camino Avenue, at the off-ramp from the I-80 Freeway in North Sacramento.

Authorities reported that the incident happened on Sept. 25th at approximately 2:19 a.m. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following reports of a traffic collision involving severe injuries. According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision initially prompted an ambulance and upon arrival it was confirmed there were major injuries.

Details shared by the CHP indicate that emergency personnel found an individual unresponsive yet barely conscious on the right shoulder of the onramp to Interstate 80 westbound, approximately 20 feet off the roadway. Responders from the Sacramento Fire Department arrived promptly and provided medical assistance.

Emergency services, including College Oak Towing, were notified at 2:49 a.m. to assist with vehicle recovery. The extent of the injuries sustained by those involved has not been disclosed, and the identities of the victims have not been released at this time.

Law enforcement officials are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision. They are urging anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
