Major Injury Collision on Highway 299 Near Livona Lane, Shasta County

BELLA VISTA, Calif., (June 19, 2026) — Two people were injured in a collision involving up to four vehicles Thursday on Highway 299 at Livona Lane in the Bella Vista area of Shasta County.
The incident unfolded on June 18th around 3:56 p.m., involving a gray Toyota Camry, a gray Toyota RAV4 SUV, a Mini Cooper, and a Jeep Compass. Reports indicate that one of the vehicles overturned during the collision, and at least one individual was found unconscious but breathing. Another individual reportedly sustained a head injury, while a third vehicle was discovered stuck in nearby bushes.
Emergency responders, including California Highway Patrol and CAL FIRE, arrived promptly at the scene to manage the situation. Crews worked diligently to clear the roadway, which was initially blocked in both directions. By 4:42 p.m., the eastbound lane was open for controlled traffic, and efforts were being made to clear the remaining vehicles.
The collision resulted in significant damage to the vehicles involved. The Mini Cooper and Toyota RAV4 sustained major damage, with the latter requiring a flatbed tow due to severe left side damage. The Jeep Compass also suffered critical damage, with all four tires reportedly missing.
Authorities are actively investigating the cause of the collision and are asking witnesses to come forward with any information that could assist in the ongoing investigation.
