Major Injury Collision on State Route 104 Near Clay Station Road
Big Rig Truck, Pickup Collide on SR-104
Sacramento, Calif. (Feb. 25, 2025) – A major traffic collision occurred Tuesday morning on State Route 104, just east of the intersection with Clay Station Road in Sacramento County.
The drivers of a big rig truck and a red pickup truck were involved in the accident. The incident was reported to the California Highway Patrol at approximately 8:12 AM on Feb. 25th, 2025.
Emergency responders were immediately dispatched to the scene where both the eastbound and westbound lanes were blocked by vehicles. Heavy fog in the area complicated visibility and emergency response efforts.
By 8:29 AM, the fire department determined the situation was serious, with at least one confirmed injury from the accident. A passenger from the pickup truck was transported to Sutter Downtown Hospital for further treatment.
At least one vehicle was taken by AJ’s Towing and by 9:53 AM the CHP confirmed that all parties had been handled.
Traffic in the area was severely delayed for a few hours as both lanes were blocked off to allow emergency crews to assess and clear the wreckage. As the situation calmed, lanes reopened and the heavy fog began to clear.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Authorities are urging drivers to remain cautious in fog-prone areas and to stay up to date with traffic reports.
“This collision serves as a reminder of the importance of safe driving in low-visibility conditions,” Attorney James Johnson said. “The investigation into the exact cause of the crash continues, with more details expected to be released soon.”
