Two Collisions Involving Five Vehicles on I-215 in Colton

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (Dec. 16, 2024) — A major injury crash involving three vehicles happened Monday on the Interstate 215 Freeway, just north of Iowa Avenue in Colton, San Bernardino County.

The collision was one of two that happened on northbound I-215 at around 4 a.m. on Dec. 16th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials first reported a two-vehicle crash in the HOV lane involving a dark grey Chevrolet Traverse and another motorist with minor injuries.

A few minutes later, two sedans and a pickup truck were involved in a collision in the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes at the same location, but this one involved major injuries.

Paramedics responded to help those involved and at least one person was hospitalized.

Tow trucks removed several vehicles due to damage and investigators are working to determine fault for the collisions.
