Multi-Vehicle Rollover Crash on SR-85 in San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Nov. 3, 2026) – A three-vehicle crash happened early Tuesday on northbound Highway 85 near the Camden Avenue off-ramp in San Jose, resulting in at least one person with major injuries.

The collision occurred around 4:53 a.m. on Tuesday morning, November 3, 2026, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision involved a vehicle that struck a roadside wall. Additional reports indicated three vehicles were involved.

At least two vehicles were reported overturned, including a black sedan and a white sedan. Another white sedan was reportedly involved in the collision. One vehicle came to rest in the center divider, while other vehicles were on the right shoulder.

One caller reported an injured person in the roadway who was bleeding from the head. Another caller reported seeing a person lying in the No. 2 lane.

Paramedics and the San Jose Fire Department personnel were notified and responded to the scene. At least one person was taken to a hospital for treatment of their injuries. The extent of injuries and the circumstances leading to the collision were not immediately available.

Meanwhile, two right lanes and two off-ramps were reported blocked as emergency crews worked to assist those involved and clear the wreckage.

Two vehicles were subsequently towed from the scene. Caltrans was requested to dispatch a sweeper to remove debris from the roadway, and a damaged green directional sign indicating the Campbell exit was reported knocked down.

By approximately 6:25 a.m., CHP reported that most debris had been cleared, although some debris remained in the northbound lanes.
