2 Critically Injured in Collision Involving LAPD Cruiser
LAKE BALBOA, Calif. (June 5, 2024) – Two people were critically injured in a multi-vehicle crash at 5600 North Balboa near Burbank Boulevard in Lake Balboa.
A Los Angeles Police Department cruiser was among three vehicles involved in the collision at around 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday night, the LAFD reported.
Firefighters responded to the intersection and located two people trapped inside a vehicle who required extrication, the Los Angeles Fire Department said. Using hydraulic rescue tools, firefighters extricated the two people from the vehicle and evaluated a total of three people with injuries.
They transported two people with major injuries to a hospital for further treatment.
The Los Angeles Police Department is heading up the investigation.
