Major Injury Crash on Highway 29, State Route 53 in Lower Lake

CHP Reports Collision at SR-29, Highway 53 in Lower Lake
CLEAR LAKE, Calif., (June 18, 2026) — A serious traffic collision involving multiple vehicles led to major injuries early Thursday morning on State Route 29 near State Route 53 in Clear Lake.
The incident occurred on June 18th at approximately 5:31 a.m. and reportedly involved up to four vehicles at the intersection, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Responding CHP officers initially classified the incident as a traffic collision with injuries and later escalated it to a major injury collision.
Emergency response teams, including CalFire and the Lake County Fire Department, were dispatched to the scene. One injured man was transported to a local hospital by Lake County Fire for treatment. The extent of their injuries remains unclear at this time.
A red Toyota vehicle was found in the middle of the intersection, while another involved party was conscious but remained inside their vehicle when emergency units arrived. The specific makes and models of the other vehicles involved have not been disclosed.
Authorities have not released the identities of those involved in the collision. Enterprise Towing was called to the scene to clear the vehicles, as the CHP continues to investigate the circumstances leading to the crash. They are urging any witnesses to come forward with information that could aid in their investigation.
